This idol statuette from Cyprus is a wonderful
example of the geometric representation of human
forms, a trend that appeared in the course of the
3rd millennium BCE and was found throughout the
Highlights of the Collection Mediterranean basin as far Anatolia. Made of clay,
the remarkable features of this statuette are its two
Siamese-twin heads on top. The faces and bodies are
decorated with incisions depicting jewellery, clothing
and tattoos or scars.
